ALBACORE
Thunnus alalunga
.
It is a kind of tuna found in all tropical waters and temperate oceans, and in the Mediterranean Sea. It is called northern bonito that is fished in the Cantabrian Sea, although it has nothing to do with the species of the beautiful and often leads to confusion and believe that the beautiful is the same as tuna.
It has a length of up to 140 cm and weights of up to 60 kg. It is differentiated from bluefin tuna because it has a pectoral fin larger than that of common tuna and dark oblique stripes on both sides of the dorsal area.
He lives during the winter in the waters near the Azores and travels at the end of spring (May or June) to the Cantabrian Sea. It is during these migrations when the campaign of the beautiful one, called coastal, which usually ends in September begins.
