It is a white or semigraso fish depending on the season. It is salt water and because of the shape of its body it is anguiliform. They live on rocky shores, at depths of about 30 meters. Inhabits holes and caves where it rarely leaves during the day. It is an eminently nocturnal animal. They feed on crustaceans, fish and squid.
Its body is strong, similar to a snake, cylindrical, with a gill opening, in the form of a slit, that reaches the belly.It has a fearsome mouth with a kind of wedge-shaped tooth that can be cut like pliers. They can tear pieces of meat from their victims through a repeated and longitudinal rotation of their body.
