Also called European Hake. It is a white fish and salt water. Although it can be found at depths of between 50 and 500 m, it normally lives at an average depth of 200 m, being in winter at a deeper depth than in summer when they approach the coast. It lives in temperatures in the order of 5ºC. It is a pelagic and predatory species that eats smaller fish (anchovies, herring, other hake, etc.), crustaceans, squid and zooplankton.
It has an elongated body, something soft and compressed laterally. His head crushed. The eyes are big and sunken. The scales are not excessively large.
